Professional Recognition and Honours/Awards (Individuals) International • Professor Sophia Chan Siu-chee, Professor Lin Chia-chin, Professor Doris Yu Sau-fung, Dr Patsy Chau Pui-hing, Dr Edmond Choi Pui-hang and Dr Daniel Fong Yee-tak (Nursing) were named among the world’s top 2% most cited scientists in their specialty areas in the 2021 most cited scientists list by Stanford University. • Professor Chan Ying-shing (Biomedical Sciences) was elected as President of the Asian-Pacific Society for Neurochemistry (2022-2024) and also elected as Chair of the Neurobiology Commission, International Union of Physiological Sciences (2022-25). • Professor Kathryn Cheah Song-eng (Biomedical Sciences) was elected as a European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO) Associate Member in July 2023. • Dr Jason Cheung Pui-yin (Orthopaedics and Traumatology, SClinMed) was awarded the English Presentation Award Gold Prize at the 52nd Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Spine Surgery and Related Research in April 2023 for the paper ‘Immediate versus gradual brace weaning for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis: a randomized controlled trial’. • Dr Hu Yong (Orthopaedics and Traumatology, SClinMed) was presented with the Annual Contribution Award 2022 by the Journal of Neurorestoratology in March 2023 in recognition of his significant contributions to the Journal. • Professor Michael Huen Shing-yan (Biomedical Sciences) was selected as Co-chair of Gordon Research Conference on Genomic Instability in 2022. 44
