He also received Assembly Education Awards for his presentations in the Respiratory Structure and Function Assembly and the Respiratory Infections (non-tuberculous) Assembly sessions at the 26th Congress of the Asia Pacific Society of Respirology in November 2022. • Professor Chak-sing Lau (Medicine, SClinMed) became a member of Academia Europaea in 2023. • Dr Gary Lau Kui-kai (Medicine, SClinMed) received the American Heart Association Award for Patient-Oriented or Clinical Research in Hypertension in 2022. • Professor Simon Law Ying-kit (Surgery, SClinMed) was elected President of the International Society of Disease of the Esophagus (September 2022 – September 2023) in 2022. • Dr Elaine Lee Yuen-phin (Diagnostic Radiology, SClinMed) was elected as Fellow of the International Cancer Imaging Society (ICIS) in October 2022. • Dr Philip Li Hei (Medicine, SClinMed) joined the Board of Directors of the Asia Pacific Association of Asthma, Allergy and Clinical Immunology in November 2022. • Dr Loey Mak Lung-yi (Medicine, SClinMed) received a Travel Grant from Faculty Opinions in January 2023 and also received the Best Oral Presentation Award at the 32nd Annual Meeting of the Asian Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver (APASL) for the paper ‘Feasibility of ambulatory liver fat monitoring by electrical impedance tomography scan for improving hepatic steatosis and health perception – a pilot study’ in February 2023. 45
