• Professor Mak Tak-wah (Pathology, SClinMed) received the following recognitions in 2023: – He was ranked ninth internationally in the field of Molecular Biology according to the Best Scientists Ranking by Research.com. He also received the Molecular Biology Leader Award for 2023. – He was selected for the 2023 Pezcoller Foundation– American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) International Award for Extraordinary Achievement in Cancer Research at the AACR’s Annual Meeting. – He received the William B. Coley Award from the Cancer Research Institute (CRI). • Professor Malik Peiris (Public Health) was conferred the Degree of Doctor of Science, honoris causa, by the University of Oxford in June 2023. • Professor Leo Poon Lit-man (Public Health) was awarded the Pasteur Network LP200 Prize in January 2023 by Institut Pasteur for his contribution to the preparedness, research, collaborations and commitment to the Pasteur Network, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, and his embodiment of Louis Pasteur’s vision. • Dr Kendrick Shih Co (Ophthalmology, SClinMed) was elected as a Fellow of the World College of Refractive Surgery and Visual Sciences in March 2023. • Dr Rio Ryohichi Sugimura (Biomedical Sciences) received the Young Investigator Award presented by Cells Tissues Organs in 2022. • Professor Yiu Kai-hang (Medicine, SClinMed) was appointed as an Editorial Board Member of Cardiology Plus in 2022. 46
