Local Extramural • The University of Hong Kong received the Hong Kong Smoke-free Leading Company Gold Award 2023 from the Hong Kong Council on Smoking and Health (COSH). [Represented by School of Nursing, University Health Service, and Human Resources Office] • The team of rehabilitation professionals from Orthopaedics and Traumatology, SClinMed, and MacLehose Medical Rehabilitation Centre achieved the highest amount of donation for The Hong Kong Society for Rehabilitation - Barrier Busters in December 2023. • Professor Albert Chan Chi-yan (Surgery, SClinMed), Professor Chiang Chi-leung (Clinical Oncology, CancerMed, SClinMed) and their team were listed among the Top Ten Hong Kong Innovation and Technology News 2023 organised by the Beijing-Hong Kong Academic Exchange Centre for their work on ‘Survival Outcome Analysis of Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy and Immunotherapy (SBRT-IO) versus SBRT-Alone in Unresectable Hepatocellular Carcinoma’. • Dr Pauline Luk Po-ling (BIMHSE & MEHU) and Dr Khong Mei-li (Biomedical Sciences and SClinMed), in collaboration with MBBS students Lim Yat-chun, Justin Chan Yik-hin, Ng Hei-yue, and Merilyn Wong Sik-yu, received the Award of Merit in Redesigning Student Learning Experience in Higher Education (RSLEIHE) 2023 and Co-Creation Programme for their project ‘EQUAL: Gamification in Medical Education – Promoting Awareness of Healthcare Inequality and Cultivating Empathy’ by HERDSA (Hong Kong) Awards for Student Projects in February 2024. 33
