One such initiatives is the newly reformed MBBS 140 Curriculum, which is being fully implemented in the coming academic year. Students will receive 48 weeks of basic clinical training during General Clerkship in Years 4 and 5, including an eight-week Cancer Medicine Block where virtual reality and other technologies will be deployed to enable students to understand cancer treatment from the patient’s perspective. An emphasis will also be placed on primary care and interdisciplinary collaboration – both of which are of increasing importance in Hong Kong’s healthcare landscape – as well as precision medicine, global health, and the integration of Chinese and Western medicine.
