The AIDS Institute and the Department of Microbiology, School of Clinical Medicine, in collaboration with the Centre for Virology, Vaccinology and Therapeutics (CVVT) organised its 2nd symposium with the theme ‘Combating Emerging Infectious Diseases’ on 16 December 2022. Professor David Ho from the Columbia University and Professor Xiaoning Xu from Imperial College, London shared their insights on the latest vaccine and antiviral drug development. In addition, ten professors from the Department of Microbiology, School of Clinical Medicine, who are also Team Leaders/Principal Investigators of CVVT, delivered thought-provoking talks on their specific research areas. The event attracted around 160 participants with fruitful sharing and discussion.
