‘Hiking with Pui Hong’ Series is hosted by Dr Chung Pui-hong from the School of Public Health, as an initiative to promote a healthy lifestyle and to exchange ideas with students in a casual setting. Special guests, including doctors in different specialties and members of the HKU community, are invited to share their life experience over a short but energising hike from HKU to the High West.It started as an activity at the Madam S H Ho Residence for Medical Students and Patrick Manson Student Residence, and later on extended to all HKUMed undergraduate students. Nine rounds of hiking were organised with over 100 students participated. Social service elements were also included in one of the rounds, where participants cleaned up the hiking trail on Lamma Island.
The feedback from the participants is highly positive, as they appreciated the opportunity to make friends with and learn from people of various specialties and backgrounds in a small group environment.
