The Inaugural Professor Felice Lieh-Mak Distinguished Lecture was held by Department of Psychiatry on 30 June 2023 at Faculty Board Room of LKS Faculty of Medicine in honour of Professor Lieh-Mak’s (麥列菲菲) notable achievements and contributions to the field of Psychiatry. Professor Norman Sartorius, President of the Association for the Improvement of Mental Health Programmes was invited to deliver a lecture on ‘Mental Health future workforce: Qualities and Tasks’ which highlighted the need for primary prevention of mental disorders, promoting mental health awareness, managing comorbidity of mental and physical disorders, and combating the dehumanization of fragmented medicine. It also discussed necessary changes in the selection and education of health care professionals to better address the current and emerging challenges in mental health care.
