The 10th Hong Kong International Nursing Forum cum 3rd Sigma Asia Region Conference was held online for the first time and attracted over 1,500 participants. The flagship annual event was jointly organised by the School of Nursing and the Sigma Theta Tau International Asia Region, and occurred on 7 and 8 December 2020. Additionally, it drew a record 41 co-organisers from around the world. 

The opening ceremony was officiated by Professor Sophia Chan Siu-chee (陳肇始), Secretary for Food and Health, HKSAR Government; Professor Vivian Lin (林光汶), Executive Associate Dean of HKUMed and Professor of Practice (Public Health); and Professor Chia-Chin Lin (林佳靜), Head of School of Nursing, HKUMed.

The theme of this year's forum was "Nursing's Evolving Roles in Transforming Global Health: Challenges and Opportunities". We were honoured to have the following renowned speakers provide their insights at the named lectures:

  • Serena Yang Lecture
    Professor Terri E Weaver, Dean, College of Nursing, University of Illinois at Chicago, United States of America
  • HKU School of Nursing 25th Anniversary Lecture
    Professor Patricia Flatley Brennan, Director of the National Library of Medicine, United States of America
