The COVID-19 pandemic has continued to evolve and brought immense pressure to Hong Kongers under the ‘new normal’. The Jockey Club SMART Family-Link Project conducted a research study on ‘Relationship between Adversity Coping Capability, Family Well-Being, and Innovative Family Services during the COVID-19 Outbreak’ via online questionnaires to 7,438 respondents. Results were announced at a press conference on 29 December 2021.

The results revealed that more than half of the respondents reported high coping capability against adversity in their families. While coping capabilities were positively related with age, respondents with higher family adversity coping capabilities had a lower prevalence of anxiety and depressive symptoms. For details of research, please refer to the full press release here.

From 28 October 2021 to 19 November 2021, the Project’s promotion truck visited all service boundaries of the 26 collaborating Integrated Family Service Centres (IFSCs) / Integrated Services Centres (ISCs), to advocate the use of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) for positive communication among family members and enhancing family well-being. A total of 3,072 people participated in the activity, while 7,479 people approached the truck or stopped by the event locations. Participants experienced and enjoyed the Project’s gamified ICT tools, namely ‘Follow Me!’ and ‘情緒達人ABC’.
