The MBBS Class 2001 Book Launch Press Conference for《行醫的初心──香港大學醫學院01班二十年行醫誌》was successfully held on 4 January 2022 at Lecture Theatre 1 of the HKUMed campus. Members and friends of the alumni association, the Faculty and the press attended the event, in which Dr Willy Wong (黃宗顯) gave an introduction of the book project, followed by sharing from alumni who had contributed articles. The Book Launch was one of the celebratory events for MBBS Class of 2001’s 20th Anniversary. The book documented the experience and reflections of Class 2001 as medical practitioners over the past two decades - how they combatted SARS in 2003 and COVID-19 since 2020, their experience in many other major events since the year of their graduation, and how each of these alumni has made their unique contributions to the medical development of Hong Kong.
