Global health policy and health systems research

This area of research focuses on conducting health policy and systems research in any international context.  Research methods include those in policy analysis, health economics methods, and comparative analysis.  Current projects include an analysis of financial protection determinants and policies across the Asia-Pacific region, government response to COVID-19, and the use of routine health information system data to evaluate health policy or health system programmes. 

Professor KA Grepin, School of Public Health

Karen A. Grépin is a Non-Resident Fellow at the Center for Global Development and an Associate Professor at the School of Public Health of the University of Hong Kong (HKU). Her research focuses on institutional factors affecting the demand and supply of health services, development assistance for health, and government policy response to infectious disease outbreaks. 

Professor Grépin holds a Ph.D. in Health Policy (economics) from Harvard University, an S.M. in Health Policy and Management from the Harvard School of Public Health, and a B.Sc. in Immunology from McGill University.
