網上重溫:https://130.med.hku.hk/the-making-of-healers"Unsung Heroes", the sixth episode of the documentary "The Making of Healers" co-produced by RTHK Television and the Medical Faculty was awarded with the "Bronze World Medal" in the Documentary - Health/Medical Information category in the New York Festivals World's Best TV and Films Awards.About the Episode:The Medical Faculty has nurtured talents in various medical fields for the city during its century-long medical journey. Whether they are specialists of rare diseases or family doctors serving the grassroots in communities, they are all dedicated to their own fields, helping the sick and making unacknowledged contributions to society. Dr. Michael TO Kai-tsun, a paediatric orthopaedic surgeon and the Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, travels frequently between the Mainland and Hong Kong to bring hopes to the patients suffering from a rare genetic disease commonly known as “brittle bone”. Family doctor FUNG Tat-biu has been serving the local community for over forty years, by immersing himself into it and caring for underprivileged patients all along. While public housing estates can be demolished and rebuilt, the caring network within a community remains all the same.Watch it online: https://130.med.hku.hk/the-making-of-healersLearn more about the Award: http://www.newyorkfestivals.com/winners/2018/pieces.php?iid=524095&pid=1#HKUMedicine #大醫之道 #TheMakingOfHealers
