About Gabriel Leung Lecture

In 2022, over 70 staunch supporters across disciplines and professions made donations to support a named lecture in honour of Professor Gabriel Leung, the fortieth Dean of Medicine. 

One of Asia’s most respected higher education, health and philanthropic leaders, Professor Gabriel Leung is well-known for his commitment to improving human capabilities, nurturing impactful innovation and building strong institutions. Professor Leung’s career has straddled academe, public service and philanthropy. He took up the Deanship at the LKS Faculty of Medicine in 2013 until 2022, then serving the University as Honorary Clinical Professor. Professor Leung is the longest-serving Dean of HKUMed to date. 

Through the Gabriel Leung Lecture, prominent scholars, academicians and practitioners from universities or medical and health science centres from around the world would be invited to visit and give talks at the University, thereby facilitating knowledge exchange for students, researchers, scholars and the general public.
